Grayscale Response Time Tester FS-GRT

The FS-GRT Grayscale Response Time Tester is an optical instrument developed by Fostar Company for measuring response time. Its built-in photoelectric sensor probe features extremely high sensitivity and fast response speed. The collected photoelectric change data is processed through a high-performance data acquisition card for background noise suppression and filtering, ultimately calculating grayscale response time and Flicker data.

Optical Data Acquisition

The FS-GRT instrument complies with VESA FPDM 2.0 and IDMS standards. According to different measurement requirements, different instrument models provide multiple apertures:

  • The standard model of FS-GRT provides 1 aperture size: 1°;
  • The upgraded model of FS-GRT provides 5 aperture sizes: 0.1°, 0.2°, 0.5°, 1°, 2°; it meets the measurement needs of a wider luminance range, and the smaller aperture sizes better support the testing of small-sized products;
  • The fiber optic model of FS-GRT provides 1 aperture size: 1°; it uses a fiber optic lens and can be applied in high and low temperature environments and small working spaces.

○ High Sensitivity

  • The photoelectric sensor probe of FS-GRT adopts a high-sensitivity Hamamatsu photomultiplier tube module, ensuring high sensitivity and reproducibility even under low light levels;
  • Built-in Y filter, matched to the human eye visual function curve, with excellent luminance linearity;
  • Internally integrated electronic camera, allowing observation of sampling positions in software;
  • Built-in ND filter and gain control, with a minimum luminance limit of 0.001 cd/m²;

○ High-Speed & High-Precision Measurement

  • Photoelectric change data collected by a 1MS/s data acquisition card, with a minimum sampling time of 1μs;
  • Resolution: 16 bits;
  • Excellent design ensures extremely high repeatability: 2%;

○ Multiple Programmable Graphic Signal Generators
It can support multiple forms such as the graphic signal switching software Showpattern.apk for Android smartphones and tablet operating systems; graphic signal switching software for Windows 8 tablet operating systems; ASTRO VG871B, VG870, VG880, FB-4, grayscale graphic output via graphics card interface, etc. It can also support graphic signal boards with RS232 communication to generate test graphics.

○ Arbitrary Grayscale Measurement
The starting grayscale, ending grayscale, and grayscale interval value can be set. It also supports custom arbitrary grayscale combinations.
